Accessibility statement

edvocado is committed to making edvocado.com usable by everyone, including people with disabilities. This statement covers the conformance level we target, what has been tested, known limitations and how to give feedback.

Conformance level

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. This statement is a draft and the site is under development: conformance claims apply to the site as it is tested at launch, and this page will be updated if anything changes.

What we have tested

• Keyboard navigation — a skip link to the main content, a visible focus indicator on every interactive element, and no tab-order traps in the navigation.
• Colour contrast — 32 token pairs in the design system checked programmatically against WCAG AA; colour is never the only signal.
• Semantic structure — one h1 per page, logical heading levels, landmarks, labelled forms, captioned tables, and lang="en-GB".
• Reduced motion — all animation stops under prefers-reduced-motion.
• Responsive layout — no horizontal scroll at 375 px, 768 px and 1280 px, and 200% zoom.

Known limitations

• Automated browser testing (axe) and a screen-reader walkthrough are planned for final QA and have not run yet.
• The mobile menu is CSS-only: while the menu sheet is open, keyboard focus can still reach the page behind it (no focus trap).
• Decorative stud and brick patterns are rendered with CSS and carry no alternative text — they are visual only.
