FAQ — frequently asked questions about edvocard®

Here are the answers parents, teachers and children ask most about edvocard® — how cards work, points, MOE syllabus alignment, schools and the AI Workshop. 22 questions and counting. If yours isn't here, write to we@edvocado.com.

How does edvocard® work?

edvocard® works in three steps: children collect cards, earn points with every card, and build a deck of MOE-aligned facts, idioms and knowledge. Cards come from booster packs, school rewards and selected magazines. Collecting becomes learning, and learning becomes a growing points balance.

What is edvocard®?

edvocard® is a collectable educational trading-card system made in Singapore. Each card carries knowledge and points: MOE-aligned syllabus content, Chinese idioms and intriguing facts. Children collect, swap and grow their points balance with every card they add to their deck.

What kinds of cards are there?

Five categories: School Syllabus cards aligned to the MOE syllabus, Idioms cards with Chinese idioms, Interesting Facts cards, Humour, Festivals and Encouragement cards, and Exchange Knowledge cards that grow when children swap them with friends. Every deck can mix all five.

What is a booster pack?

A booster pack is a themed set of edvocard® cards for collecting. Packs bundle cards by subject — Maths, English, Chinese, Science, Unbelievable Places, Forces in Action and Fascinating Food Origins — so children can build a deck around what they love.

What is the Knowledge Machine?

The Knowledge Machine is the edvocard® booster-pack line: themed packs that turn a subject into collectable knowledge. Each pack is a small knowledge machine — cards to collect, facts to learn and points to earn with every card that joins the deck.

How is edvocard® different from ordinary trading cards?

Ordinary trading cards stop at collecting; edvocard® cards also teach. Every card carries verified knowledge — MOE-aligned syllabus content, Chinese idioms or intriguing facts — and every card earns points that add to a growing balance. The collecting habit does the teaching.

How do points work?

Every edvocard® card carries knowledge and points. Children collect cards and accumulate points across their decks, and every card adds to the same points balance. Point values per card are confirmed by our venue partners; they are published here as soon as they are finalised.

How do children earn points with edvocard®?

Children earn points by collecting cards: every edvocard® card carries points, and points accumulate across the deck. Decks grow through booster packs, school rewards and cards found with selected magazines. More cards collected means a bigger points balance across the whole deck.

What are Edvoly Credits?

Edvoly Credits are a paid credit system that works with edvocard®. The credits are not sold on this site yet, as the rebuild is informational-first. Write to us and we'll explain how credits work and where they can be used.

Is edvocard® aligned to the Singapore MOE syllabus?

Yes — School Syllabus edvocard® cards follow Singapore MOE syllabus topics, and every alignment claim is labelled with its level, like "MOE-aligned • Primary 3 Science". The verified example is the Primary 3 Science pack: 6 topics, 38 cards. Claims are checked against syllabus documents before publishing.

What does "MOE-aligned" mean?

MOE-aligned means the card's content follows topics from the Singapore Ministry of Education syllabus. Each claim is labelled with its level, for example "MOE-aligned • Primary 3 Science". We verify every claim against the published syllabus documents before it appears on a card or on this site.

Which MOE subjects and levels does edvocard® cover?

edvocard® serves children in Primary 1 to Primary 6. The published, verified syllabus product is the Primary 3 Science Knowledge Booster Pack — MOE-aligned across 6 topics with 38 cards. Other School Syllabus cards follow MOE topics and are labelled by level.

How many cards are in the Primary 3 Science booster pack?

The Primary 3 Science Knowledge Booster Pack contains 38 cards in total across 6 MOE topics: Diversity of Living and Non-living Things, Classification of Living Things, Diversity of Materials, Life Cycles of Plants, Life Cycles of Animals and Properties of Magnets.

Can edvocard® support revision at home?

Yes. The Primary 3 Science pack follows the syllabus topic by topic, so classroom revision and card collecting can be the same activity. Cards make facts concrete and repeatable — read a card, quiz a fact, collect the next. It complements textbooks; it does not replace them.

Which booster-pack subjects are available?

Booster packs bundle cards by subject: Maths, English, Chinese, Science, Unbelievable Places, Forces in Action and Fascinating Food Origins. Each subject becomes its own knowledge machine — cards to collect, facts to learn and points to earn with every card that joins the deck.

Can schools and tuition centres use edvocard®?

Yes. Schools and tuition centres use edvocard® as a reward system: students earn cards for effort and achievement, and every card carries knowledge and points. Institutions like Lil' But Mighty and one2tuition already run edvocard® rewards, and CDAC and Nanyang Education use customised decks.

How do schools use edvocard® as rewards?

The AI Workshop runs three tracks: Kids, Teens and Adults, and Organisations. Every session is hands-on and customisable to your theme, curriculum or topic, and sessions are arranged on request — there are no fixed published dates. What is the AI Workshop?

What happens in the AI Workshop for Kids?

The Kids track is for Upper Primary children and runs two hours. It builds AI awareness: what AI is, how it is built, its strengths and weaknesses, and the power and danger of AI. Children code mini games, create an edvocard with AI to share with friends, and take a printed card home.

What happens in the AI Workshop for Teens and Adults?

The Teens and Adults track runs two to three hours and needs no experience. Participants learn how AI was trained, set up their own AI environment, and build apps, games, websites and systems — LMS, CRM, workflow agents or Telegram bots — in working order by the end.

What happens in the AI Workshop for Organisations?

The Organisations track runs two to three hours and brings the workshop to teams — schools, tuition centres and companies. Staff set up AI environments and build what the organisation needs: an LMS, a CRM, workflow agents or Telegram bots, customised to your goals. Sessions are arranged on request.

How do I sign up for the AI Workshop?

Sessions are arranged on request — there are no fixed dates or venues. Use the enquiry form on the AI Workshop page, or contact us by email or phone. Tell us who the workshop is for and what you would like to learn, and we will arrange a session around it.
